Meet the Team: Mark Denley, Director
Mark Denley is one of the two original partners of Gibbs Denley, founding the company in 1990 with Derrick Gibbs. Mark is a Chartered Financial Planner, a qualified fund manager and also acts as a professional trustee. He has particular expertise in pensions, investments and tax.
When Mark and Derrick first met at Newmarket races in 1990 they had no idea that their friendship would turn into a long-lasting and highly successful business, serving the East Anglian region and beyond for over 25 years.
Within Gibbs Denley now, Mark continues to take an active and client-facing role. His clients are generally those of a high net worth, looking for an effective tax planning and proactive investment management service. Many of his clients have been with him since the early days.
Mark is also involved with the management of Gibbs Denley and acquisitions of other businesses. So far the company has made 16 acquisitions, adding an extra element to the organic growth of the company. He chairs the Gibbs Denley Investment Management Committee, responsible for overseeing the company’s investment portfolios. Gibbs Denley currently manage funds with a value in excess of £300 million.

Mark lives between Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds with his wife, family and dogs. He is a keen photographer – his pictures can be seen hanging on the walls of the office buildings in Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. Every year Mark and Paul Gibbs continue the tradition of attending the races at Newmarket in honour of the first fateful meeting 25 years ago.
