Mark is a founding Partner of Gibbs Denley in 1990, and has been in insurance and financial services for 25 years. Mark is now the Chairman and a Director of Gibbs Denley Group and the associated companies, responsible for the Group management and acquisitions. He is a qualified fund manager and financial adviser, and also acts as a professional trustee, with particular expertise in pensions, investments and tax.
Mark takes a front-end role with his clients, who are mostly based in the UK, although some now reside abroad. The core to the service base offered by the financial services team that Mark heads is the proactive nature of the management of the funds and the associated tax planning.
His interests and pastimes include photography, running and swimming, as well as maintaining an active family life.
Paul has a wealth of experience in all types of personal and commercial insurance. Having started his career as a Commercial Underwriter for General Accident in 1985, he then moved to the broking sector in 1989 when he joined Derrick Gibbs Insurance Services. Having worked on both sides of the fence, it gives him a valuable insight when advising clients or negotiating with insurers.
Paul is a Director of Gibbs Denley Group and responsible for business development and IT. His role within the business is client facing and he spends a great deal of his time visiting clients.
In his spare time his interests are motorsport, rallying, walking and being an active member of Rotary.
RICHARD WELLER (FCII) Richard has spent nearly 40 years in the General Insurance Industry, working for both insurance companies and brokers. He initially specialised in Engineering Insurance, both in the City of London and the Eastern Region dealing with underwriting, sales and training across six counties. Seeking new challenges, he moved to General Insurance broking in 1988 and joined Gibbs Denley in 1993 as Broking Manager, becoming a Partner in 2000. Richard is now a Director of Gibbs Denley Group Ltd and its associated companies. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner.
Richard's clients will typically be commercial enterprises located in East Anglia, but also spread throughout the UK where specialist technical advice and knowledge of the Insurance Market are needed to achieve appropriate levels of protection balanced against competitive cost.
Outside work, Richard is a martial arts instructor and has travelled to Japan to train under Japanese masters.
DAVID ELLIS (DipPFS) David has spent over 30 years in the Pensions & Investment Industry since joining Scottish Widows straight from school. He joined Gibbs Denley in 1999 as Financial Services Manager, becoming a Partner in 2002. David is now a Director of Gibbs Denley Group Ltd and its associated companies. He is a Qualified Member of the Personal Finance Society and The Chartered Insurance Institute.
Many of David's clients are retired or approaching retirement, where consistent sound advice is essential. In addition to his client work, David is responsible for the firm's Compliance and Complaints processes. He also oversees the firm's Human Resources requirements.
Outside work, David's interests include cricket, where he is Chairman of Cambridgeshire's Coaches Association and Sawston Cricket Club. He is also an active member of the Rotary Club of South Cambridge.
