Gibbs Denley “Cycle for Magpas” to raise money for Air Ambulance Charity
On Friday 1st July 2016 the Directors and staff of Gibbs Denley Insurance and Financial Services are going to “Cycle for Magpas”, raising money for Magpas Air Ambulance, their nominated charity of the year. Throughout the day members of the staff at Gibbs Denley will be using two stationary bikes to cycle the distance between their three offices in Swavesey, Bury St Edmunds and Chelmsford – a total distance of just over 80 miles.
The two bikes will be set up outside So Scrumptious Café, which is just across the road from the Gibbs Denley office building on Anderson Road, Buckingway Business Park, just north of Cambridge. Everyone will be joining in, from the Directors to the most recent additions to the company – some staff are even coming in on their day off to take part!
Gibbs Denley will be tracking their progress through the miles, with regular updates on incidents the Magpas Air Ambulance and road team have been called out to along the route. The Magpas team have already been dispatched 477 times during 2016 – an average of 3 times a day, providing emergency life-saving care in cases where time is of the essence. Gibbs Denley first nominated Magpas as their charity of the year in 2015. A representative for Magpas, along with a volunteer (patient), came along the Gibbs Denley Staff Conference and everyone was so impressed by the work they do the Directors decided they would continue to be our nominated charity for our special 25th Birthday year.
Gibbs Denley would like to give a special thanks to the Magpas Team, One Leisure St Ives and Swavesey Village College, for their support and loan of bikes for the event.
